Oh, What a Night!

Another reunion come and gone. I had a great time and I hope you all did too. Thirty-seven classmates gathered at Good Times on Friday night and 54 came on Saturday. Some of my favorite memories: seeing two classmates I haven’t seen for 40 years (!) – Mary Eikens and Lisa Nelson; Randy Schroeder showing up in his golf shoes because Linda accidentally locked their car keys in the trunk; Bob Lange and Bunge squaring off during the program, “A Lange scared can still outrun a Bunge mad!”; Mary Janikowski telling us about her dad, our teacher, who has always been her Hero; Randy putting his foot up on the podium to show off his shoes (I couldn’t believe he got it up there!!); looking over and seeing my husband wiping tears of laughter from his face during “Wild Thing”; Bunge hugs, hugs, and more hugs; Smitty saying goodbye to Mike Richards and Larry Goetzinger and telling us we are all Family; Larry saying he’d be back again next reunion and declaring, “I’m gonna live to be 100!”; and the 11:30 p.m. announcement that the battery in Schroeder’s car had finally gone dead! What an evening; what a class!

There are so many people to thank who pitched in and made the committee’s job easier, but especially Songer for being in charge of the music all night—there couldn’t have been a better choice—Deb, Clare, Cynthia & Connie for help with set-up; Shari Lange for agreeing to be in charge of check-in; Helen, Kathy, Ann & Robert for taking pictures all night; Randy for agreeing to a part in the program, even though he wants you all to know he was coerced; and Bob K for organizing the golf outing….I hope I didn’t forget anyone. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Thanks to Bob Burns and Robert Schroeder for volunteering to be on the 2015 Reunion Committee, and also to Bob B for “volunteering” Bill & Clare Klug.

Many pictures were taken and I will get them posted as soon as they are received. If it’s too many for this blog site to handle, there will be a link posted here for an online photo share site so check back frequently.

Steve Wiebke had one suggestion – that we don’t wait another five years to get together. He would like to see us gather informally at least once a year – said we should just pick a date, time and place and spread the word. Not a bad idea, Steve. Give us some time to recover and then let’s think about it!

Cheers to all,
Judy
